Few facts

Hello everyone, I hope all of you are doing well and keeping healthy during these unpredictable times.

During this difficult time, it is still important to increase awareness about mental health issues. Keeping this in mind, I have decided to highlight a few statistics and facts from each mental health issue. For this week, I shall emphasise Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder or OCD is a mental health disorder that can be characterized by obsessive and repeated thoughts and compulsions which can have a significant impact on daily life.

1. According to reports, 1 in 40 adults and 1 in 100 children face OCD in the United States of America.

2. OCD affects men and women equally.

3. An estimated 2.3% of people will face OCD at some point in their lifetime.

4. Stress can worsen OCD symptoms.

That’s it for this week’s edition of my blog! I’ll be taking a short break from Liberate for personal reasons and hope to resume from the first week of May (the last month of my tenure at Liberate ☹). Till then, take care and stay healthy!

Best wishes,
